Overview: The EMBA-Global program’s curriculum is rigorous and comprehensive. As an EMBA-Global student, you: study alongside some of the most talented global executives in business today learn from world-renowned faculty from both schools study in the world’s two business, financial and cultural capitals – London and New York join a high caliber, global network of more than 68,000 alumni benefit from two internationally recognized brands on a student’s CV.
Program Format: Core courses are taught in a residential study block format, allowing students to study over several consecutive days per month, alternating between London and New York. Both schools make equal contribution to the teaching of core courses, with faculty traveling to teach wherever the class is in residence at that time.
Program Schedule: The program duration is 20 months. During terms 1-3 core courses are taught in four to five day class weeks. They typically run from Wednesday to Saturday and are scheduled approximately once per month, alternating between London and New York. During terms 4-5 students have the opportunity to tailor their learning by choosing from the extensive portfolio of elective options offered by both schools. Students also participate in one or more International Seminars/Assignments and can undertake independent research while so doing. In the final two terms your study location will depend upon your elective courses. Past places of study have been Hong Kong, Shanghai, New York, and London.
Curriculum: The curriculum is designed to give students sound knowledge in general management as well as global business and international perspectives.
Core Courses: Core courses include Executive Leadership, Corporate Finance, Leadership and Organizational Change, Marketing Strategy, Financial Accounting, Performance Management, Strategic Management, Global Economic Environment, Managerial Economics, Managerial Statistics, Operations Management, and Decision Models.
Class Profile: Students have on average 5-14 years of professional, full-time work experience.
Admission Requirements: Requirements for the Columbia Global EMBA program are a completed online application (including application form, essays, and personal statement), a one page resume, official academic transcripts or certificates, GMAT score, TOEFL/IELTS scores in applicable, two references, a signed statement from a current employer, a copy of passport page with picture and identification information, and a nonrefundable application fee ($200).
