University of Buffalo School of Management, Executive MBA Program

Overview: The EMBA program with the University of Buffalo provides students with the skills necessary to make strategic and theoretical decisions in managerial positions.

Program Format: The EMBA program is taught on the University of Buffalo’s campus in Buffalo, New York. Lecture and discussion, as well as group-work and case study methods are used.

Program Schedule: The program’s duration is 20 months. Classes are taught on Fridays and Saturdays, on every third weekend.

Class Profile: Participants of the program typically have 5 years of professional work experience before entering the program.

Admission Requirements: To be considered for admission applicants must have at least five years of full-time work experience and receive the endorsement of their company. On average, past EMBA students have had 14 years of experience.

Applicants must also:

Submit an application form

Submit an application fee ($100)

Submit an Employer Sponsor Agreement

Have all official college/university transcripts sent to the Admissions Office

Submit Two Letters of Recommendation

Write and Submit a Personal statement/essay

Submit a Resume

Have an Interview with one of the Admissions Committee’s staff

Application Deadlines: The deadline to receive applications for the EMBA program is July 1st.

Essay: Applicants must answer the following questions:

  1. What are your short-term (up to five years) and long-term (more than ten years) career objectives? List alternatives if you have them.
  2. How do you feel you would benefit from attending the University at Buffalo EMBA program? 

  3. C. Describe the professional experience where you feel you have made the greatest positive impact and contribution.
